Sherborne is the county of Dorset's historical and architectural gem, Sherborne has a medieval Abbey church, two castles and five public schools. 

The imposing Abbey of golden stone has one of the most graceful fan vaulted roofs in England.  

The town  abounds in old inns and 16th-17th century houses built in the same golden stone as the abbey, and set in meandering streets.
